Djembe in balafon wood
Balafon wood with beautiful veins.
The balafon wood or the "Balan Yiri" in diula, or guenu, gueni. (Scientific name : Pterocarpus Erinaceus) As its common name suggests, it is mainly used in the manufacture of balafons. Its characteristics make it a wood with very interesting acoustic properties. These give the djembes carved in this essence a sonority close to that of Linke wood. The balafon wood and the Linke are in our eyes the two best woods for the djembes. See the "Product Details" for more information on the characteristics of this djembe. Supplied with a protection of the skin. BaraGnouma Drums : VIDEO
