"Bobo" style pentatonic balafon 16 keys:
A rope is stretched on either side of the slightly curved frame.
The keys of the balafon therefore do not touch the frame.
The resulting damping reduces the stick's attack on the keys.
This balafon, smaller than the 20 keys, remains an instrument in its own right with a range of three full octaves.

The balafon comes with its pair of sticks.
