As its common name suggests, it is mainly used in the manufacture of balafons. Its characteristics make it a wood with very interesting acoustic properties. These give the djembes carved in this essence a sonority close to that of Linke wood.
The balafon wood and the Linke are in our eyes the two best woods for the djembes.
See the "Product Details" for more information on the characteristics of this djembe. Supplied with a protection of the skin.
Perfectly adapted to the assembly of the djembe. They will not require too much tension. They will suit a public concerned not to have a too hard skin to play.
There is a crack in the foot, however it does not reach the end of the shell, so it is not dangerous. Another is also visible at the level of the body, this one is superficial (not crossing), therefore without risk either.
