Vincent Wilkin has been playing the kora since 2002, first trained in Belgium by Sadio Cissokho, then in Mali by DjalyMady Sissoko (kora teacher at the Institut National des Arts) for a year on a full-time basis. Toumani Diabaté then mentored him during his visits to Belgium from 2005 onwards.
He created a structured teaching method for complete beginners in 2014, which has benefited Lubiana Kepaou in particular since her debut and for almost a decade.
He is also training in Indian classical music and has worked for Indian producers such as A.R. Rahman (Oscar and Grammy award winner).
He plays traditional European music, combining his roots with his diverse influences.
